Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old auto driver, was found dead near a flyover in Bengaluru on June 9. The police allege that he was kidnapped and murdered by a gang on Darshan’s orders after Renukaswamy allegedly sent offensive messages to the actor’s friend, fellow actor Pavithra Gowda, on social media.
The chargesheet, filed on Wednesday, details the collection of over 200 pieces of circumstantial evidence linking Darshan to the crime. Among the evidence are forensic reports confirming the presence of bloodstains on Darshan’s clothing, as well as on those of other accused individuals. A critical piece of evidence includes a photograph from the crime scene showing Renukaswamy pleading with his assailants not to harm him. Additionally, CCTV footage places Darshan at the scene, and bloodstains were reportedly found on Pavithra Gowda’s footwear, which she allegedly used to assault the victim.
The postmortem report of Renukaswamy revealed the extent of the brutality, indicating that he was severely beaten, tortured with electric shocks, and mutilated. His body bore multiple injuries, including a missing ear and ruptured testicles.
Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others have been arrested in connection with the murder. The investigation continues as the police seek justice for the victim.
