Retired top cop Om Prakash murdered at his Bengaluru home, wife suspected

In a shocking incident, retired Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG-IGP) Om Prakash was found murdered at his residence in HSR Layout on Saturday. The 1981-batch IPS officer was founder in a pool of blood, with multiple stab wounds on his body. Police have recovered a knife from the crime scene.

He played a key role in probing major terror attacks in Bengaluru — including the 2013 blast near the BJP office in Malleshwaram and the 2014 Church Street blast. His service was marked by diligence and critical contributions to Karnataka’s security apparatus.
