In a heartbreaking turn of events in Kota, Rajasthan, Devendra Sandal’s life took a devastating twist on his retirement day when his wife Deepika passed away during his farewell ceremony. Devendra, a manager at a central warehouse, had opted for early retirement to care for Deepika, who had been battling cardiovascular issues. The couple, residents of Dadabari in Shastri Nagar, had no children and planned to start a new chapter in their lives.

On Tuesday, as the office celebrated Devendra’s retirement, Deepika collapsed from her chair. Despite immediate medical attention, she was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. Deepika had spent the morning decorating their home to welcome her husband into his retired life, but fate had other plans. Her last rites were conducted the following day, leaving neighbors and friends in shock and grief.

A similarly tragic incident unfolded in Odisha’s Cuttack district the same day. Jharana Biswal, wife of English professor Prashant Biswal, suffered a fatal heart attack during his funeral. Prashant had recently passed away due to complications from a brain stroke. The couple’s mortal remains were cremated together in Maheshpur, marking an emotional moment for their family and community.

Both incidents underscore the unpredictable fragility of life, leaving loved ones to grapple with profound loss during moments meant to signify new beginnings or farewells.
