Ricky Rai injured in late-night shooting near Bidadi residence

Ricky Rai, the son of late underworld figure N Muthappa Rai, was reportedly shot at by unidentified assailants near his home in the Bidadi area of Karnataka’s Ramanagara district. According to the police and media reports, the incident took place between 12 AM and 1:30 AM as Rai was travelling from Bidadi to Bengaluru in his car late Friday night.

Police officials stated that unknown attackers opened fire at the vehicle, and one of the bullets pierced through the driver’s seat. Ricky Rai, who was seated in the rear of the vehicles with his gunman, sustained injuries along with the driver. The attack occurred close to his residence, prompting immediate response from local law enforcement.

Following the incident, Rai was rushed to the Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru for medical treatment. Ramanagara Superintendent of Police, Srinivas Gowda, confirmed the time of the event and the location, stating that Rai had been referred to Bengaluru for further care after the initial response in Bidadi.

The motive behind the attack remains unknown, and investigations are underway to identify the culprits involved in the shooting. The incident has raised serious concerns about security in the region, especially given Rai’s family background.
