Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak is in Delhi for the G-20 summit. He meanwhile, planned a visit to the Akshardham Temple in Delhi along with his wife on the morning of 10th September. He had earlier expressed dissapoitnment that he was not in a position to celebrate Krishna Janmashtami as his busy schedule did not allow him to. He had also spoken about the importance of religion and faith and how it acts as source of strength 

“I am a proud Hindu. That’s how I was raised, that’s how I am. Hopefully, I can visit the Mandir while I am here for the next couple of days. We just had Rakshabandhan, so from my sister and my cousin, I have all my Rakhis," Rishi Sunak had said.

He participated in the Pooja and Aarti that had taken place on the day and even offered a miniature model of the temple as a gift during his visit. . 

Director of Akshardham Temple, Jyotindra Dave said, “His experience was extraordinary. He performed the Pooja and Aarti with a lot of faith. We showed him the temple and also gave him a model of the temple as a gift. He enjoyed every minute here.He kept on extending time. His wife was also very happy.” in an interaction with ANI
