Rising COVID-19 cases spark alert across multiple states, Karnataka records 35 active cases

As COVID-19 cases silently increase in several states, health authorities are on high alert to prevent further spread of the pandemic. The central government has directed state health departments to remain vigilant and prepare for any surge in cases. States like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Delhi have already heightened their alert status.

In Delhi, the government has issued instructions to hospitals to be ready with adequate beds, oxygen supplies, and essential medicines. Pune has increased the number of beds in government hospitals in anticipation of a rise in patients. Meanwhile, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh are advising citizens to strictly wear masks in public spaces as a precautionary measure.

Maharashtra continues to report the highest number of new infections, with 45 positive cases and 2 deaths recently. Kerala has reported 273 cases, Gujarat 40, Delhi 23, Karnataka 35, Tamil Nadu 12, Haryana 5, and Uttar Pradesh 4 cases.

In Bengaluru alone, 32 out of the total 35 active cases in Karnataka have been reported. Among these, three children have tested positive for COVID-19. One child was diagnosed at Vani Vilas Hospital, while two others are receiving treatment in private hospitals. All three children are currently undergoing medical care and monitoring.

Health officials stress that although the current numbers do not indicate an immediate outbreak, negligence can escalate the situation rapidly. They urge the public to follow safety protocols including mask-wearing, hand hygiene, and social distancing.

The rise in cases, especially involving children, has caused concern among parents and healthcare providers. Authorities are working closely to track and isolate new cases to curb transmission.
