Bengaluru experienced heavy rainfall on Saturday, recording 28.8 mm of precipitation by 8:30 PM , leading to significant flooding in low-lying areas. Sai Layout in Horamavu, along with NC Colony on Tannery Road, were among the worst-hit regions, with water entering several homes, especially in ground-floor areas. Residents have expressed their frustrations over recurring flooding issues that have been affecting them for years.

Shajahan, a local resident of Sai Layout, voiced his anger over the repeated flooding, which left his ground floor submerged under two feet of water. He revealed that this problem has been ongoing for the past decade, and despite facing similar hardships in previous years, no permanent solution has been put in place. In fact, last year, Shajahan had to rent a house at a cost of Rs 25,000 due to the flooding.
The storm also caused damage to vehicles, with a large tree falling on a parked car and a jeep at East End in Jayanagar. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Traffic was severely affected throughout the city, with many areas experiencing waterlogged roads and slow-moving vehicles. In particular, the upper ramp of Domlur flyover and parts of Koramangala were flooded, while traffic in and around Manyata Tech Park was disrupted.
BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao visited the control room and instructed officials to clear water stagnation, remove fallen trees, and coordinate with traffic police to manage the situation. Alerts were issued for slow-moving traffic, and certain roads, such as East End Road, were temporarily closed due to the fallen trees.
