Following Mahakumbh 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government  initiated the distribution of holy Sangam water as ‘Maha Prasad’ to all 75 districts of the state and other parts of India, including Assam. Now with increasing global interest, the sacred water is being sent overseas too, with the first international shipment already dispatched to Germany according to Prayagraj district officials.

The move aims to ensure that devotees who couldn’t attend the Mahakhumb receive the spiritual offering. The first international batch containing 1000 glasses bottles was sent to Germany with the support of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri of the Shri Panch Dashnam Juna Akhara, a prominent Hindu monastic order.

The packaging and supply of the holy Ganga water is being managed by the Nari Shakti Mahila Prerna Sankul-level committee, a self-help group from Prayagraj. Committee head Namita Singh shared that over 50,000 bottles have already been distributed within India since the Mahakhumbh, including a recent dispatch to a religious group in Nagpur. While the domestic bottles are 500ml in size, the international shipment to Germany used 250 ml bottles.
