The driver, identified as Manohar, a resident of the same apartment, allegedly hit the dog and fled the scene. Tuku Tuki suffered a severe hip fracture requiring immediate medical attention. Locals, moved by the plight of the injured animal, pooled their resources and funded an expensive surgery, spending lakhs. However, the dog still requires another critical surgery to fully recover.
Residents have filed an FIR against the driver under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The incident has sparked outrage, with many condemning the act as a glaring example of human insensitivity towards animals.
The puppies of Tuku Tuki await their mother’s safe return, while residents continue to pray for her speedy recovery. The collective effort of the community highlights a silver lining amid the tragedy, showing how empathy and action can make a difference even in the face of cruelty.
