The upcoming film Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, has been generating significant excitement as the filmmakers continue to reveal new details about the project.
Recently, they have captivated fans by unveiling a series of character posters, showcasing stars like Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and Nagarjuna. The latest addition to the cast is the veteran actor Sathyaraj, who will portray Rajasekar, a close friend of Rajinikanth's character in the film. There are also speculations that Kannada superstar Upendra may join the ensemble, with an official announcement anticipated soon.

Sathyaraj, who was once known for his powerful antagonist roles in the 1980s, particularly in films starring Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, will be reuniting with Rajinikanth after a 38-year hiatus. Their last collaboration was in the 1986 film Mr. Bharath. Now, under the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj, the two icons are set to share the screen once again in this highly anticipated action-packed movie.

In March, the first-look poster of Coolie was unveiled, featuring a striking image of Rajinikanth in a denim shirt, bound by a chain of wristwatches, fueling speculation about a possible time-travel storyline.
The film, produced by Sun Pictures, will feature music by Anirudh Ravichander, with action choreography by Anbu-Arivu. Coolie is expected to hit theaters in 2025. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has completed filming Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, which is set for release later this year.
