Executive Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella has stepped in to resolve the internal turmoil in the leadership of OpenAI (the artificial intelligence organisation that developed ChatGPT). Nadella indicated that former Twitch CEO Emmett Shear might be fulfilling the role of the CEO in OpenAI.  We remain committed to our partnership with OpenAI and have confidence in our product roadmap, our ability to continue to innovate with everything we announced at Microsoft Ignite, and in continuing to support our customers and partners. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced the appointment of former OpenAI Chief Sam Altman and former President Greg Brockman to lead a new team for advanced research in Artificial Intelligence. “We’re extremely excited to share the news that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, together with colleagues, will be joining Microsoft to lead a new advanced AI research team. We look forward to moving quickly to provide them with the resources needed for their success,” he mentioned in the post. 

Microsoft has invested 13 billion dollars in OpenAI. They hold 49% of the stocks of the company. “This mission continues,” Sam Altman posted in response to Nadela’s post.
