The festival opens with Down the Drain, a documentary by filmmaker Nitya Misra, commissioned by SGB, which delves into Bengaluru’s water crisis. A discussion with Misra and socio-hydrologist Veena Srinivasan will follow the screening. On the second day, In Search of Gold, directed by Basav Biradar, will examine the history of the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), followed by a discussion with physicists Nirmal Raj and Palahalli Vishwanath on its scientific and historical significance.
This festival captures Bengaluru’s evolving identity through science and storytelling with focus on Bengaluru featuring SGB’s first commissioned film.
Alongside the screenings, interactive events will include a Bengaluru-themed quiz, a virtual scavenger hunt, and installations inviting attendees to share personal stories about the city.
The Sci560 Film Festival follows the CARBON Film Festival and aligns with SGB’s Sci560: Science in the City exhibition at its Sanjaynagar premises. The schedule and free registration details are available on the SGB website.
