In his budget speech, Karnataka CM Siddramaiah revealed that his government would scrap the National Education Policy (NEP) and formulate its own policy.
Even as that is done, it is the parents who are a worried lot as it affects the life of their wards.
Speaking exclusively with News First, Education minister Madhu Bangarappa said NEP lays stress on many unnecessary things. He added that the government would not take any hasty decision as it would affect the future of students. He further noted that the syllabus would be untouched for the present academic year and promised that any changes that would be brought in, would be done based on inputs given by experts in the field.
The NEP was formulated by the Centre in 2020, keeping in mind the Indian ethos and providing quality education to all, thereby making India a superpower.
