The Security BSides Bangalore community has concluded its latest quarterly meetup, celebrating International Cybersecurity Awareness Month with resounding success. The event, themed "Securing Applications from Next-Gen Adversaries," attracted over 100 cybersecurity professionals, leaders, and enthusiasts to a day of learning and collaboration.

Held in partnership with World Wide Women in Cyber Security (W3-CS) and supported by Target Corporation, the event featured thought-provoking sessions, dynamic panel discussions, and community recognition.

The event kicked off with a welcome address by Ashok Kumar Ratnagiri, CISM, of BSides Bangalore, and Sapna Singh, country leader of W3-CS. Visagan Subburayalu from Target Corporation delivered an engaging opening keynote on preparing enterprises to defend against emerging cyber threats.

Key sessions included:

  • "Zero Trust in Application Security" by Abhishek Vijay Nayak
  • "API Security: Mitigating the New Attack Surface" by Pradeep Kishore
  • "Pentesting Docker Container-Based Applications" by Mukesh Kumar Rao

Panel discussions were a highlight, featuring an all-women panel on "Threat Modeling in AI-First Applications" led by Vandana Verma and others, and a discussion on "Data Privacy in Application Security" with industry experts.

Participants were also treated to a quiz competition, with winners Ankita Sastry, Chaitanya KK, and others recognized alongside the ICSAM Wall of Fame honorees.
