Sehwag impressed by Abhishek Bachchan’s Ghoomer

The trailer for Abhishek bachchan’s upcoming movie “Ghoomer” was released yesterday. The film is being directed by R. Balki who has worked with Abhishek Bachchan before in Paa. The film also had a cameo from Amitabh Bachchan presumably in the role of a commentator. The story is about an aspiring woman cricketer who loses her right hand in an accident. Abhishek Bachchan plays the role of her mentor who helps deal with her mental health problems after the accident and helps her develop into the role of a left arm spinner. The character played by Abhishek Bachchan is himself a person who fails to make it big in the game of cricket despite having the potential for it. 

The role of the spinner is played by Saiyami Kher. Stalwarts Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi are also part of the movie. 

Retired cricketer Virender Sehwag was also impressed by the trailer. Virender Sehwag shared the trailer with the remark,”I never took spinners seriously but this one looks special. Waiting to watch the film. Lovely #GhoomarTrailer.” Virender Sehwag is renowned for being highly aggressive while playing spin. Indian spinner Ravichandan Ashwin recounted an instance when all his good balls were dispatched for six by Sehwag, so he intentionally bowled bad balls to play with Sehwag’s ego. Sehwag in the attempt for a big shot would then get caught in the deep. 

I never took spinners seriously but this one looks special.
