Jayaram was taken into custody by Tiruvallur district police shortly after he exited the High Court premises on Monday. Authorities allege that he assisted a gang in abducting the boy by allowing them to use his official vehicle. The motive behind the abduction was reportedly to separate a young couple.

Following his detention, the senior officer was transported to the Thiruvalangadu police station, where he was questioned for nearly six hours. Meanwhile, in a related development, Kilvaithinakuppam MLA and Puratchi Bharatham Katchi leader ‘Poovai’ M. Jagan Moorthy also appeared before the investigating officer in Thiruvalangadu on Tuesday morning, complying with the High Court's directive.
