The highly anticipated trailer for Shahid Kapoor's Deva was unveiled on Friday at a grand event in Mumbai, setting the stage for an action-packed release on January 31. Directed by acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews, the film marks Kapoor’s return to the action-thriller genre, reminiscent of his performance in Kaminey (2009). This time, however, he swaps the role of a criminal for that of a rebellious cop.

In Deva, Kapoor portrays a fierce and unyielding officer with a single mantra: absolute freedom. The trailer reveals the character’s backstory, showing how a childhood tragedy—his brother’s death during a public event—shaped his worldview. Deva now seeks justice on his own terms, operating beyond the boundaries of conventional law enforcement.
A standout moment in the trailer features Deva’s superior questioning whether he is "police or mafia," followed by a defiant Deva declaring, “I am... mafia.” The film is set in Mumbai, with a gripping narrative of vengeance, power, and moral ambiguity.
The star-studded cast includes Pooja Hegde as the female lead and Pavail Gulati as a fellow officer. With Shahid Kapoor’s intense performance and Andrrews’ direction, Deva promises a thrilling cinematic experience.
The film’s trailer has already heightened excitement among fans, positioning Deva as one of the most anticipated releases of early 2025.
