Shanaya Kapoor set for Bollywood debut with ‘Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan’ after a 3-year wait

After years of anticipation, Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, is set to make her Bollywood debut in Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan, releasing on July 11, 2025. Initially introduced by Karan Johar in 2022 for the shelved film Bedhadak, Shanaya described the project's cancellation as heartbreaking.

Rather than rush into another opportunity, the young actor took the past three years to hone her skills. She trained in acting, dancing, and voice modulation, determined to be thoroughly prepared for her debut. “I wanted to grow as an artist and build confidence in my craft,” she reportedly shared.

In Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan, Shanaya portrays Saba, a blind theatre artist—a role that demanded both emotional depth and sensitivity. To bring authenticity to her performance, she visited a school for the visually impaired to better understand the community's experiences.

The film marks the beginning of a packed slate for Shanaya. She will next be seen opposite Adarsh Gourav in the romantic thriller Tu Yaa Main. She is also part of the bilingual action drama Vrushabha, co-starring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, and is set to feature in a digital series connected to the Student of the Year franchise.

With a thoughtfully paced entry into the industry and promising projects ahead, Shanaya Kapoor is finally stepping into the spotlight—this time, on her own terms.
