Actress Shilpa Shetty has once again won the hearts of Kannada audiences with her return to the Kannada film industry after a long hiatus of 18 years. She was the center of attention at the teaser launch of ‘KD: The Devil’, a pan-India film starring Dhruva Sarja, held in Mumbai recently.

Speaking at the event, Shilpa expressed her deep connection with Karnataka, saying, “I always say I’m a Karnataka girl, a Kannada girl. Acting in a Kannada film is always special for me.” She added that this was her first multilingual film, making it even more memorable. She also shared her joy about working with director Prem and co-star Sanjay Dutt during the shoot.

Shilpa revealed that she had initially declined the role due to her tight schedule with back-to-back films and reality shows. However, during the shooting of Rohit Shetty’s web series, she suffered a leg fracture that left her temporarily in a wheelchair. Her manager insisted she at least hear the story of KD, and that changed her decision.

The film marks her grand re-entry into Sandalwood after working in hits like Preethsod Thappa, Ondagona Baa alongside Ravichandran, and Auto Shankar with Upendra.
