The Karnataka Film Chamber Of Commerce has expressed its solidarity to the protestors on the occasion of Bengaluru Bandh. Actor Shiva Rajkumar gave a speech during this occasion.

He talked about the need for a collaborative approach and intent from the government and the judiciary. “You are the ones who attach a status of stardom to our names. You have the power to take that away as well. You accuse us of not showing our support for Cauvery, we have come here. But marking our presence here is not enough to bring a solution to this problem. We are all stakeholders in electing our government. If the leaders of both states are able to sit together and come at a consensus there would be a resolution to the problem. Karnataka farmers are not different from Tamil Nadu farmers. They do not have different labels. Farmers are the same everywhere. They all face difficulties,’ he said in the meeting.

He also addressed the cancellation of actor Siddharth’s press meet for the film Chikku. “Today, on behalf of the entire industry, I would like to apologise to Mr Siddharth. I am very hurt and such a mistake will not repeat. People of Karnataka are not hate filled, They are accepting of all languages and enjoy films of all languages. One can witness this only in Karnataka,” he mentioned in his speech.
