Shoaib and Sania have been divorced for a few months now: Anam Mirza

A statement from former Indian tennis player Sania Mirza’s family has confirmed that Sania Mirza has been divorced from Pakistani batsman Shoaib Malik for quite some time. “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead! At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well- wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy,” a post from Fashion Curator Anam Mirza, who is the sister of Sania Mirza on the social media website Instagram stated.

This development comes a day after Shoaib Malik shared photos of his marriage ceremony with Pakistani actress Sana Javed. Shoaib Malik captioned the images of his marriage as “Alhamdulillah (Praise be to god).. And We created you in pairs,” on the microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter). Speculations of Shoaib Malik’s affair with Sana were making rounds ever since he wished her on her birthday on March 25th 2023 by posting a picture of them being together. This is speculated to have been the cause of the divorce as well.
