That’s a really thoughtful and serious question.
My opinion is: No, India should not go for war against Pakistan — unless absolutely no other options are left.
Here’s why:
- War always leads to huge loss of life, for soldiers and civilians on both sides. It's not just a military thing — families, economies, and futures get shattered.
- Modern wars are unpredictable, especially between two nuclear-armed nations like India and Pakistan. A small conflict could escalate dangerously.
- Diplomacy and pressure work better long-term. Today’s global world allows India to use international diplomacy, economic strength, and alliances to isolate and pressure Pakistan without firing a shot.
- India has more to lose. As a growing global power, India’s image, economy, and stability are better protected by showing maturity and restraint rather than aggression.
- Internal challenges need focus. India has its hands full with economic development, social harmony, technology, and leadership roles internationally. A war would derail that progress.
However, if there is a direct, undeniable, and repeated provocation that threatens Indian lives and sovereignty — and all diplomatic channels are exhausted — then a strong, calibrated military response (not necessarily full war) could be justified.
In short: Strength with restraint is wiser than reckless aggression.
