The fan culture among Indian film industries is unique. Fans often devote a significant amount of their efforts and even money to celebrate their favourite movie stars. However this has resulted in scamsters misusing their emotions to mint money.
One such incident has come to light after a Non Resident Indian (NRI) named Minoo Vasudevan who is a diehard fan of Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra shared his experience on the microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter). “Dear Sidharth Malhotra & all Sidians, My name is Minoo Vasudevan from USA. There is a serious incident you all should know about admins Aliza & Husna Parveen, @sidmalhotra.updates. Between October 2023 to December 2023, they stole 50 lakhs from me. Between October 18th-24th 2023, they stole 10.5K rupees from my friend in UK, Maariya. Disclaimer: Some chats & evidence during this time have been deleted. However, I have crucial ones as evidence,” Vasudevan’s posts mentioned.

Vasudevan alleged that he was made to believe that Bollywood actress Kiara Advani who’s married to Sidharth posed a threat to his life. He claimed that he met people who pretended to be from Sidharth’s PR team and an insider providing information from Kiara’s team. He apparently spent money in buying gift hampers for Sidharth in the hope to meet him. This reportedly occurred on a weekly basis. He also supposedly paid to procure inside information. He believed he was contributing to save Sidharth’s life. “Aliza told me fake stories: Sid's life was in danger because of Kiara. She forced him to marry her by threatening to kill his family after he rejected her sexual advances during Shershaah. Also, she exploited him physically, sexually, & financially along with her goons, Karan Johar, Shashank Khaitan, Apoorva Mehta & Manish Malhotra. Additionally, she cheated on him with them & all her other co-stars & did black magic on him,” one of Vasudean’s post remarked.
