The incident, which occurred earlier this month, has deeply shaken the city and prompted widespread outrage.

Ghoshal, who was scheduled to perform on September 14, announced the decision to reschedule the concert to October, citing the emotional toll of the tragedy. “Being a woman myself, the very thought of the sheer brutality that she must have gone through is unthinkable and sends shivers down my spine,” she expressed in a heartfelt statement.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in light of Ghoshal’s decision. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya highlighted the singer’s move on social media, drawing a parallel to the recent release of a protest song by Bollywood singer Arijit Singh, which also condemned the incident.
The alleged murder and sexual assault of the young doctor have ignited intense protests across Kolkata, with citizens demanding justice. Malviya accused Mamata Banerjee of attempting to suppress dissent, further intensifying the political tensions surrounding the case.
