The stagnant rainwater and flooded drains appear to have disturbed the natural habitats of snakes, driving them into residential areas in search of dry shelter. Several residents have reported spotting baby snakes inside water-logged homes, especially in low-lying parts of the locality.

Snake rescuers and herpetologists have been actively conducting operations to safely capture and relocate these reptiles. The rescue teams, including trained snake handlers and civil defence personnel, are conducting regular rounds in affected zones. Their primary focus is on homes that were submerged and are now empty, as these have become potential hiding spots for reptiles.

Officials have urged residents to remain cautious while cleaning their homes and to immediately report any snake sightings. Civil Defence teams, working closely with snake experts, are also raising awareness about safety measures and first aid in case of snake bites.

Local authorities have emphasized the need for better drainage infrastructure to prevent future instances of reptiles invading homes due to flooding.
