Amid nationwide support for the armed forces during Operation Sindoor, a major backlash has erupted online after BJP Minister from Madhya Pradesh, Vijay Shah, made offensive remarks against Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, a decorated officer. Shah reportedly referred to her as the "sister of the Pahalgam terrorists," a comment many have slammed as communal, derogatory, and deeply disrespectful to the Indian Army.

The internet responded swiftly, with public outrage spreading across platforms. Veterans, politicians, and civilians demanded accountability, saying such remarks dishonor the sacrifice and service of officers like Col. Qureshi.
One of the sharpest rebukes came from Putta Vishnuvardhan Reddy, who posted on X:
“Vijay Shah must apologize. Sack him. #SofiyaQureshi #OperationSindoor”
