Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru has initiated a crucial endeavor by introducing SOS QR codes at various locations, including traffic signals, institution gates, corporate buildings, school buses, construction sites, key traffic intersections, and apartments.
The primary objective of this initiative, launched on September 27, is to facilitate summoning of ambulances during medical emergencies. These QR codes seamlessly provide real-time information about the patient’s location to the nearest Manipal Ambulance Response Service (MARS) and 108 ambulance teams.
Manipal Hospital also launched a comprehensive cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) education program, with the aim of imparting life-saving skills to the community. This initiative underscores the hospital’s commitment to ensuring that critical patients receive timely assistance during the crucial ‘Golden Hour.’
It’s worth noting that Manipal Hospital’s commitment extends beyond its own premises, as both MARS and 108 ambulance services are dedicated to transporting patients to the nearest healthcare facility.
Additionally, Manipal Hospitals has proposed to the state government the mandatory inclusion of CPR education in the curriculum of all educational institutions and civic bodies, further promoting lifesaving knowledge and skills within the community.
