Experts have shared goal for achieving One Trillion USD economy in Karnataka by 2030: SOUL

Rotary International District 3191 and FICCI Karnataka announced the inaugural edition of ‘SOUL Bengaluru Business Conclave,’ with theatre artist Prakash Belawadi as the chair. “The primary objective of SOUL is to contextualise the emergence of a confluence of new technologies that are poised to transform lives and economies across sectors. This event will bring together visionaries, entrepreneurs, scientists and policymakers, fostering discussions on the need to embrace and cope with the emerging technologies and opportunities they offer for the technological and economic growth of Karnataka. We are proud to reveal that these distinguished experts have graciously agreed to share their insights, with all working for a shared goal – Karnataka’s arrival as a USD One Trillion economy by 2030.” the press release of the event mentioned.

Ullas Kamath of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) was optimistic of Karnataka becoming a one-trillion economy by the year 2030. “14.3% of the state’s GDP comes from agriculture. That has to move to around 20%. That’s a must for any state to be independent. Karnataka has been a frontrunner in industries from the Maharaja’s days. 19.2% of the state’s GDP comes from industries and that has to move up. 65% of the contribution comes from IT and services which is where the silicon valley of India is. We are very proud of it but we are also seeing if we can do anything beyond Bengaluru and beyond IT/BT,” he mentioned in an interaction with NewsFirst Prime

The programme comprises five sessions: Transforming Karnataka, Transforming Tech, Transforming Bengaluru, Beyond Bengaluru and ‘Desert Tech’, a Showcase from the State of Israel.

Prakash Belavadi, the chair of the conclave stressed on the need to gear up for transformative technology. He recognised the potential of Bengaluru to lead this adaptation.  He referred to Bengaluru as the first true city of independent India in an interaction with NewsFirst Prime.
