The elderly man had arrived at the court to attend a case related to a consumer grievance. Around 10:30 a.m., while seated on the first floor of the court building, he suddenly collapsed. Staff and bystanders rushed to his aid and quickly brought him down from the building in an attempt to get immediate medical assistance.
Despite their efforts, Chinnamarigowda could not be revived and was declared dead shortly after. The exact cause of death is suspected to be a massive cardiac arrest.
This incident adds to the growing list of heart attack fatalities being reported across the state, including recent deaths in Hassan, Shivamogga, Vijayapura, and Belagavi. Health experts have been raising concerns over the spike in cardiac-related deaths, especially among middle-aged and elderly individuals.
The state health department is under pressure to investigate the trend and consider steps such as awareness campaigns, improved screening, and emergency response preparedness to address this rising health crisis.
