Is IPL retirement on the cards?

NewsFirst Prime has learnt that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni was in Chennai recently and met Kashi Vishwanathan, CSK’s CEO to apprise him of his fitness.

The former Indian captain had undergone a knee surgery earlier this year. Though it has been several months since the surgery, Dhoni is yet to recuperate completely. That has left a question mark on his availability for the next version of the IPL.

Reports suggest that Dhoni has not been able to run swiftly or jump robustly, two traits which have been the hallmark of his career. That being the case, it is said he discussed the issue with the CEO, as well as charting out a way for the men in yellow.

Dhoni is also undergoing a rehabilitation process that will go on till November. He is expected to take a call on his future only after the entire process is completed. Till then, no complete picture will emerge on this.

However, knowing Dhoni and his knack to throw surprises, it wouldn’t be a surprise if calls it a day in the IPL too!

Just keeping fingers crossed!
