In a deeply concerning trend, Karnataka has witnessed a sudden surge in heart attack-related deaths, with six individuals losing their lives between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning across different districts. The incidents have raised alarm bells over increasing cardiac-related fatalities, many involving relatively young individuals.

In Mysuru, 51-year-old BN Sridhar, a native of Junjanahalli in Hassan district, collapsed while exercising on a treadmill at a gym in Vijayanagar. Despite being rushed for help, he could not be saved.

In Hassan district, three separate heart attack cases were reported. CB Virupaksha (70) from Chikkanayakanahalli in Sakleshpur collapsed at night after sudden chest pain. He was rushed to Crawford Government Hospital but did not survive. In Alur taluk, Santosh (38), a gram panchayat member from Kallare village, suffered a fatal heart attack in his sleep.

In Shivani village of Tarikere taluk, Harish (29), a coconut trader, died after complaining of nausea around 2:30 am. Initially thought to be gastric discomfort, he was given medication and asked to rest. He later collapsed and was declared dead upon arrival at Ajjampura hospital.

Jayappa (44) from Aiguru, Davangere, suffered a heart attack while walking to Bapuji Hospital. Though he was admitted to the ICU, he didn’t survive.

In Kalaburagi, Santosh Indi (36), a young farmer from Lingadahalli village in Aland taluk, collapsed while working in his field due to low blood pressure, resulting in a fatal heart attack.
