In domestic and franchise cricket, Piyush Chawla carved a niche for himself. He became one of the most reliable bowlers in the Indian Premier League (IPL), playing for multiple franchises including Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mumbai Indians. With 179 wickets, he is the third-highest wicket-taker in IPL history, a remarkable feat for a spinner.
Despite not being in the Indian team’s radar in recent years, Chawla continued to deliver consistent performances in domestic circuits and IPL, particularly shining during the IPL 2023 season with his experience and control.
His farewell note expressed deep gratitude to his fans, teammates, coaches, and family, stating that the time had come to “step away from the game that gave me everything.”
