After a match-winning Asia Cup 2025 performance against Pakistan, left-handed opener Abhishek Sharma becomes the third Indian to cross 900 rating points in T20Is.
Abhishek Sharma has become the third Indian batter to cross the coveted 900 rating points mark in ICC T20I rankings, joining Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav. The left-handed opener achieved a career-best 907 points following his match-winning half-century against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025 last Sunday.

Suryakumar Yadav, currently placed sixth, crossed the 900-point threshold in 2023 after a T20I against New Zealand, while Kohli, who retired from T20Is in 2024, reached 909 points earlier this year. Among other Indian players, Tilak Varma climbed to the third spot in the batter rankings, while Hardik Pandya and mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy maintained their top positions in the all-rounder and bowler categories. Chakravarthy gained 14 rating points to reach 747, and Pandya currently sits at 238 points.
Sharma’s consistent performances have also sparked speculation about his potential maiden ODI call-up. The BCCI is yet to announce India’s white-ball squads for the upcoming Australia tour, which includes three ODIs and five T20Is starting October 19. With Shubman Gill likely to bat at No.3, Sharma could be a perfect opening partner for Rohit Sharma, complementing India’s top order.
