Dominant all-round show helps ATS Attackers defeat Provin Panthers to clinch first-ever CM Cup Badminton Trophy in a high-profile tournament organised by 9 Dreams
Bengaluru witnessed high-intensity badminton action as ATS Attackers clinched the maiden edition of the CM Cup 2026 badminton tournament, organised by 9 Dreams, with a commanding performance in the grand finale. Displaying consistency, teamwork and aggressive gameplay, the champions defeated Provin Panthers in a closely contested final to lift the prestigious trophy.
The championship match was played at the Karnataka Badminton Association courts, where both teams delivered a gripping contest. However, ATS Attackers’ sharp attacking approach and disciplined court coverage helped them edge past their rivals and seal the historic victory in the tournament’s debut edition.
The trophy presentation ceremony was attended by Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and Chief Minister’s Media Adviser K.V. Prabhakar, who felicitated the champion and runner-up teams. The valedictory function also saw the presence of Bengaluru Press Club General Secretary Shivakumar Bellithatte and film producer B. Lokesh, adding prominence to the occasion.

The two-day tournament, held on Saturday and Sunday, featured eight competitive teams and delivered a series of exciting matches that kept spectators engaged throughout. In the league stage, Group A consisted of Inspire Challengers, Elite Badminton Club, Aesthetic Attackers and Cafe Divyam, while Group B included ATS Attackers, Provin Panthers, Telecom Sky Strikers and KGF Smashers.
After intense league battles, Inspire Challengers, Elite Badminton Club, ATS Attackers and Provin Panthers secured semifinal berths. In the first semifinal, ATS Attackers outplayed Elite Badminton Club, while Provin Panthers booked their final spot by defeating Inspire Challengers in straight sets, setting up a thrilling title clash.
The final day of the event drew several eminent guests, including Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and Sakra World Hospital Managing Director Yuichi Nagano, who watched the matches and encouraged the players.
What set CM Cup 2026 apart was its unique format, bringing together participants from diverse professional backgrounds. The tournament featured public representatives, IAS and IPS officers, police personnel, government officials, doctors, film personalities and media professionals. Notable participants included Minister Dr M.C. Sudhakar, former MLC Narayanaswamy, IAS officer Selvakumar, IPS officers Mithun and Ramesh Banoth, KAS officers Satish and Yogesh, and senior police officer Parameshwar, among many others.
