Dropped, doubted, and written off, the Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter scripted a stunning turnaround with explosive performances, becoming India’s new T20 poster boy.
Team India’s fearless wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has become the talk of the nation after delivering a series of explosive performances that mark one of Indian cricket’s most inspiring comeback stories.
Once sidelined, questioned, and almost written off, the 27-year-old from Jharkhand has reinvented himself through discipline, hard work, and a renewed hunger for success. Today, he stands tall as India’s new T20 poster boy, admired for his destructive batting and fearless intent.

Kishan’s stunning innings against Pakistan in Colombo brought him back into the spotlight. Playing with confidence and controlled aggression, he smashed a half-century in just 27 balls, dismantling the Pakistani bowling attack. Against their leg-spinners alone, he scored 41 runs off just 17 deliveries, turning the match decisively in India’s favour. His knock not only changed the game but also sent a strong message to critics and selectors alike.
However, this success follows a difficult phase. In December 2023, during India’s tour of South Africa, Kishan stepped away from the team citing mental fatigue. Reports later suggested internal dissatisfaction with team management. In 2024, he lost his central contract, and questions were raised about his future in international cricket. For a period, Kishan was sidelined and largely ignored.
Instead of reacting publicly, he chose silence and self-improvement. He focused on intense training, fitness transformation, and consistent domestic performances. His steady run of form forced selectors to reconsider, leading to his recall to the national side.

Since his return, Kishan has looked like a transformed cricketer. His batting now reflects maturity, responsibility, and controlled aggression. In seven T20 matches this year, he has scored one century and three half-centuries, delivering multiple match-winning performances.
Beyond numbers, his attitude has changed. Known earlier for excessive on-field fun, Kishan now shows greater focus, discipline, and leadership in team huddles, fully committed to his role and goals.
As he continues his fearless run, fans hope that Ishan Kishan’s power-packed journey will help Team India secure many more memorable victories.
