Three-match ODI series begins January 11 in India; Shubman Gill named captain, Shreyas Iyer vice-captain
BCCI has announced a strong and balanced squad for the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand, set to be played entirely in India from January 11. The series is expected to be a high-profile contest, featuring a mix of senior stars and young talent.
Shubman Gill has been appointed captain for the series, while middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer will serve as vice-captain. Senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return to the ODI setup, adding experience and stability to the batting lineup.

The squad also includes KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant as wicket-keeping options, giving the team flexibility behind the stumps. All-round strength comes from Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja, who add depth with both bat and ball.

India’s bowling attack features a solid pace unit with Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna and left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh. Kuldeep Yadav will lead the spin department, while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Yashasvi Jaiswal provide additional batting options and versatility.
The first ODI will be played on January 11 in Vadodara. The second match is scheduled for January 14 in Rajkot, while the third and final ODI will take place on January 18 in Indore.
