India outplay Chinese Taipei 35-28 in a thrilling final to secure back-to-back Women’s Kabaddi World Cup titles.

India’s women’s kabaddi team completed a remarkable campaign in Dhaka by lifting their second consecutive Women’s Kabaddi World Cup title, overcoming Chinese Taipei 35-28 in a gripping final held on November 24. The victory capped off an unbeaten run for India, who displayed complete control from the opening day of the tournament to the championship match.

India dominated the group stage with a flawless record and carried the same momentum into the knockouts. Their semi-final clash against Iran showcased the team’s sharp defence and confident raiding as they sealed a 33-21 win to enter the title match. Chinese Taipei also arrived in the final with an unbeaten record, having defeated hosts Bangladesh 25-18 in the semifinals, setting up an intense battle between the two strongest sides of the tournament.

In the final, India maintained composure during the critical stages, building a steady lead and resisting Taipei’s late push. Their balanced approach in both defence and attack proved decisive, securing a historic back-to-back World Cup triumph.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the team’s grit and skill, noting that their success will inspire future generations to embrace kabaddi. With 11 nations participating this year, the tournament also reflected the expanding global footprint of women’s kabaddi.
