Fresh from a surprise T20 World Cup recall and a title-winning Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign, Ishan Kishan continued his red-hot form with a breathtaking 33-ball hundred for Jharkhand against Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Ishan Kishan’s golden run with the bat continued as the wicketkeeper-batter produced a sensational 33-ball century for Jharkhand against Karnataka in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match held in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. The explosive innings underlined his rich form across formats and tournaments in recent weeks.
The whirlwind hundred stood out for its sheer pace and power, making it the second-fastest List A century by an Indian. Only Bihar captain Sakibul Gani’s 32-ball ton against Arunachal Pradesh, recorded earlier the same day, sits ahead of Kishan’s effort. Against a strong Karnataka attack, Kishan dismantled the bowling with clean hitting and fearless intent.

This knock came on the back of a remarkable Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season. Just days earlier, Kishan captained Jharkhand to their maiden SMAT title, finishing the tournament with 517 runs. His campaign included a match-winning century in the final against Haryana, where he became only the second batter to score a hundred in an SMAT final, reaching the landmark in just 45 balls, the third-fastest century in a men’s T20 final. With five hundreds in the competition, he now shares the record for most SMAT centuries with Abhishek Sharma.
Kishan’s purple patch has also earned him a surprise recall to India’s T20 World Cup squad last week, further boosting his momentum. His domestic dominance adds to an already historic résumé, which includes the record for the fastest double century in ODI cricket, a feat he achieved against Bangladesh in 2022 off just 126 balls.
