A powerful 195-run stand between Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad lights up the second ODI, continuing India’s strong batting form.

India produced a strong batting display in the second ODI against South Africa in Raipur, led by a brilliant century from Virat Kohli. Continuing the momentum from the first match in Ranchi, Kohli reached his 53rd ODI hundred and delivered another high-quality innings that kept India firmly on top.

Kohli played with a T20-style tempo, maintaining a strike rate of 110.99. He reached his century off 91 balls, hitting two sixes and seven fours, and kept India’s scoring rate steady as the innings progressed. His form in this series has remained consistent, having already scored a century in the opening ODI.

A major highlight of the innings was the exceptional 195-run partnership between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Kohli. The duo batted with complete control, adding the runs in 156 balls. Gaikwad contributed a well-made 105 from 83 deliveries, while Kohli added 83 from 73 balls during the stand before accelerating towards his hundred.

By the time India crossed 38.1 overs, the team had reached 280 for the loss of three wickets, with captain KL Rahul joining Kohli to push the total further. Their platform positioned India strongly against South Africa as the match moved into the final phase.
