India’s openers, Rohit Sharma and Gill, walked in with hopes of providing a solid start, but the innings collapsed before it could take shape. At just 17 runs on the board, Gill attempted an aggressive shot off Marsh’s delivery in the 6th over, only to hand a simple catch back to the bowler.

Moments later, the pressure intensified as Kohli walked in, only to depart without scoring. Facing Xavier Bartlett in the same over, Kohli misjudged a delivery that hit straight on the pads, resulting in a clear LBW dismissal. His back-to-back ducks in the series have shocked Indian fans, who expected a strong comeback from the star batter.

At the time of Kohli’s dismissal, India’s total stood at just 17 for 2. As the innings progressed, Rohit Sharma (19*) and Shreyas Iyer took charge, trying to steady the innings at 29 for 2. With the top order failing once again, the middle order will now carry the burden of rebuilding India’s innings under pressure.
