Following their historic World Cup victory, Harmanpreet Kaur and her team met President Droupadi Murmu, who hailed them as role models and symbols of a united India.
In a celebration of history-making achievement, the Indian women’s cricket team, led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi after clinching their first-ever World Cup title. The players were received by the President a day after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking the team’s triumphant victory tour.

A post shared by the President’s office on X showed the players and coaching staff in an interactive session with President Murmu, followed by a photo session at the grand hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur presented the President with the World Cup trophy, while the entire team gifted her an Indian team jersey signed by all the players.

President Murmu praised the diversity of the team, highlighting how players from across different regions and backgrounds united under one flag. “They are one team, India. They represent different regions, different social backgrounds, and different circumstances, but they are one Team, India,” she said.
Among those present were World Cup heroes Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Pratika Rawal, who joined the celebrations despite recovering from an injury.
