  • Over 60% chance of rain during the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Final
  • Reserve day set for November 3 if heavy rain stops play
  • Trophy will be shared if weather halts play on both days

As India and South Africa gear up for their first ICC Women’s World Cup title clash, rain clouds threaten to disrupt the high-voltage final in Navi Mumbai.

The much-awaited ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Final between India and South Africa, set to take place at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, faces a possible weather challenge. With dark clouds hovering over the venue, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in the region today.

According to forecasts, there is a 62% cloud cover and nearly 63% chance of rain during the afternoon. Between 4 PM and 7 PM, the rainfall probability increases to around 50%, raising concerns about interruptions in play. The IMD has even issued a yellow alert for Navi Mumbai and nearby areas, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and intense showers.

The high-stakes final, where both teams are aiming for their first-ever World Cup trophy, could therefore be affected by weather delays. However, officials have made backup plans to ensure a result is achieved. If rain interrupts play, the overs may be reduced under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.

In case the rain persists and the match cannot be completed today, the reserve day, November 3, will be used to continue or replay the final. Fans need not worry about a complete washout, as organizers have confirmed the reserve-day provision.

If the weather remains unplayable even tomorrow, the trophy will be shared between India and South Africa, as per ICC rules.

With India entering the final after defeating defending champions Australia, and South Africa beating England, both sides are determined to make history.
