A dominant all-round performance in Vadodara helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru secure their fifth straight win and seal a playoff berth in the 2026 Women’s Premier League.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued their dream run in the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL) with a commanding victory over Gujarat Giants in Vadodara, clinching a place in the playoffs. With this win, RCB have now registered five consecutive victories in the tournament and moved to the top of the points table.

After losing the toss, RCB were asked to bat first and made full use of the opportunity. They posted a strong total of 178 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was anchored by Gautami Naik, who played a brilliant knock of 73 runs and provided stability in the middle order. Captain Smriti Mandhana contributed 26 runs, setting the tone at the top, while Richa Ghosh added late momentum with an aggressive 27-run cameo that included three sixes.

Chasing a challenging target of 179, Gujarat Giants struggled right from the start against a disciplined and collective bowling effort from RCB. The RCB bowlers kept tight lines, built pressure, and picked wickets at regular intervals, never allowing Gujarat to settle into the chase. The Gujarat Giants were eventually bowled out well short of the target, suffering a heavy 61-run defeat.

Sayali emerged as the standout performer with the ball, claiming three crucial wickets. Nadine provided excellent support by picking up two wickets, while Lauren Bell, Shreyanka Patil, and Radha Yadav chipped in with one wicket each, completing a comprehensive bowling display.

With this victory, RCB sit comfortably at the top of the WPL 2026 points table with 10 points from five matches. Mumbai Indians occupy the second spot with four points after winning three of their five games. UP Warriorz, Gujarat Giants, and Delhi Capitals are placed third, fourth, and fifth respectively.

RCB’s consistent performances with both bat and ball have made them strong contenders for the title as they head into the knockout stage with confidence.
