RCB to kick off Season 19 preparations with a grand Unbox event at Chinnaswamy Stadium as players arrive from March 15; Bengaluru confirmed to host opening ceremony, playoffs and five home matches.
Excitement is building in Bengaluru as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru gear up for Season 19 of the Indian Premier League. The franchise has begun preparations for its much-awaited “Unbox” event, which is expected to take place on March 20 or March 22 at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The announcement was confirmed by Venkatesh Prasad, President of the Karnataka State Cricket Association. According to him, the event will be held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium as part of the build-up to the new IPL season.
RCB players are scheduled to begin arriving in Bengaluru from March 15. Practice sessions will be conducted at the Chinnaswamy Stadium itself, setting the stage for the Unbox celebration and the upcoming tournament.

The Unbox event traditionally marks the official beginning of RCB’s campaign, bringing fans closer to the team before the league begins.
Cricket is officially returning in full scale to Bengaluru for the 2026 IPL season. After detailed discussions and deliberations, the Chinnaswamy Stadium has been cleared to host several key matches and events.
The stadium will stage five home matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In addition, it has been selected to host the IPL 2026 opening ceremony, as well as the playoffs and the final.
Earlier, RCB had explored the possibility of playing its home games in another state. However, just days ago, the franchise officially announced that it would play five matches in Bengaluru. Following that confirmation, preparations have begun in full swing.

While Bengaluru will host five RCB home games, two matches are scheduled to be played in Raipur.
With the Unbox event around the corner and the city confirmed as a major venue for IPL 2026, cricket fever is set to grip Bengaluru once again.
