Pant is expected to return during the home Test series against West Indies in October. His inclusion in India’s squads for both the Australia ODI and T20 series (October–November) also looks certain, provided his fitness holds up.
Pant’s injury happened during the fourth Test in Manchester when a Chris Woakes delivery struck his leg. He retired hurt at 37 but later returned in pain, limping to the crease to score a gritty 54 runs. His half-century was crucial in helping India secure a draw.
