India completed a dominant whitewash over West Indies in the two-Test series, with brilliant contributions from K L Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Jaiswal securing a memorable series triumph.
India wrapped up a dominant 2-0 Test series whitewash over West Indies after a thrilling chase in the second Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on October 14, 2025. Under the leadership of Shubman Gill, India secured a 7-wicket victory, marking Gill’s first Test series win as captain following a drawn series in England.

Chasing a modest target of 121 runs, India began their innings with K L Rahul and Sai Sudarshan opening the batting. Sudarshan contributed a well-made 39 before falling to Roston Chase, while Rahul anchored the chase with an unbeaten 58, striking crucial boundaries and maintaining calm under pressure. Gill’s brief cameo of 13 runs added momentum, and with the support of wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel, India crossed the finish line with ease.
The victory was built on a strong foundation from the first innings, where India posted 518/5 declared. Standout performances included Jaiswal’s 175, Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 129, Sai Sudarshan’s 87, Nitish Kumar Reddy’s 43, and Dhruv Jurel’s 44. This formidable total put pressure on West Indies early in the match.

West Indies showed grit in response. In the first innings, they managed 248 runs, with Kuldeep Yadav (5/82) and Ravindra Jadeja (3/46) dismantling their lineup. Following on, they batted with determination, scoring 390 runs, highlighted by John Campbell’s 115 and Shai Hope’s 103, while Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales added 79 crucial runs for the last wicket. Despite the spirited resistance, they fell short by 121 runs.
