Hours later, Muchhal himself was briefly hospitalised, reportedly due to exhaustion and anxiety triggered by the unfolding crisis. These twin medical emergencies forced both families to defer the nuptials indefinitely, assuring that celebrations would resume once health concerns were resolved.

However, during the break, speculation began to overshadow the official narrative. Social media was flooded with unverified allegations about Muchhal’s personal conduct, including claims of inappropriate digital interactions. His family dismissed the accusations as baseless, but the rumours gained traction when Mandhana deleted all pre‑wedding photos and videos from her accounts. Several friends and teammates followed suit, fuelling talk of a deeper rift.
