The cricketer’s comeback post after her postponed wedding sparks discussions online as fans notice the absence of her engagement ring and question the timing of the video shoot.
Indian cricketer and women’s team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has returned to social media nearly two weeks after her wedding to singer-composer Palash Muchhal was postponed. Her latest Instagram post, a promotional video for a toothpaste brand, instantly caught public attention, not for its content, but for what was missing.

While Smriti appeared cheerful in the video, many fans pointed out that her engagement ring was not on her finger. Several users questioned whether the video had been filmed before her engagement, noting the absence of mehendi on her hands. Some felt her expression seemed slightly subdued, while others were simply relieved to see her active online again, calling her “a queen.”
The speculation comes after the couple’s wedding, scheduled for November 23, was postponed when Smriti’s father, Srinivas, reportedly fell ill and was hospitalised in Sangli. Palash was admitted to the hospital the following day due to illness. Both have since been discharged, but the families have not announced a new wedding date.

Meanwhile, rumours circulated after Smriti removed wedding-related posts from her social media accounts, but the families have stated that the ceremony will be rescheduled once both sides finalise a suitable date.
