Team India gears up for first ODI against Australia

The countdown has begun for the opening clash of the India–Australia ODI series, with the first match set to unfold at Ranchi. After a disappointing Test series defeat, Team India is determined to bounce back and reclaim momentum in the shorter format.

The spotlight is firmly on the return of Virat Kohli, who will don the blue jersey on home soil after 291 days. Fans are eager to witness the ‘Ro Ko’ duo—Rohit Sharma and Kohli—deliver fireworks, just as they did during the Australia tour. However, questions remain over the playing XI, particularly the opening slot alongside Rohit. With Shubman Gill ruled out due to injury, Yashasvi Jaiswal appears the frontrunner, though Ruturaj Gaikwad remains in contention.
