Virat Kohli once again rose to the occasion, scoring a calm and composed half-century to steer India’s chase in the final ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The Indian skipper, who has faced criticism over his recent form, answered in the best possible way, with his bat.

After winning the toss, Australian captain Mitchell Marsh opted to bat first, posting a target of 237 runs for India. In reply, opener Shubman Gill departed early for just 24 runs, putting early pressure on the visitors.

Kohli, walking in at number three, showcased maturity and resilience.
